Spring Is a Woman
Not every woman is a mother, and not every mothering person is a woman
Everywhere outdoors in Spring we’re surrounded by reminders of what a woman is — nurturing, sensual, generous, tolerant, persistent, vulnerable, social, working, playful, colorful, fragrant, connected to the earth, soft, strong, healing, quietly creative, respectful, spiritual, joyful — everything a woman can be.
This particular Spring, in May of 2022, I’m fiercely aware that a woman doesn’t have to be a mother to be any of these health-giving, life-sustaining things that make joy possible on Earth. And to be mothering in this world, you don’t have to be a mother or even a woman.
