Woman power in local politics? Yes! Women are organizing, volunteering and running for office now more than ever.
Here are 2 things you can do (men, too!) to help protect our democracy this week.
1. Vote. Municipal Election Day is Tuesday, November 2. Brevard voters have the chance to elect a woman mayor.
Early Voting is still going on. Whatever county you’re in, if you don’t live in town and can’t vote, please call friends in town to remind them how important their vote really is. For information on hours and locations, see the Transylvania, Henderson and Polk County Boards of Election, below.
2. Register for a free virtual 1½-hour panel discussion, “Teaching about Diversity and the Controversy Over Critical Race Theory”, Wednesday, October 27, 2:30-4:00 p.m. EST.
We expect our school boards will become targets for the Critical Race Theory (CRT) issue. But we can plan our resistance now, with information, with effective words, with a local strategy that cuts through the confusion. Register for this discussion and help make your community better prepared.
Look below for details about your local municipal voting, and for how to register for the CRT panel discussion. We can do this!
