You might remember my earlier post about the Campmor catalog, titled “Crazy for Campmor”. As some people read cookbooks, I used to browse through this catalog. I loved seeing what amazing gear you could send for, to make your outdoor experience more memorable.
The artwork was interesting, especially the drawings of people using the products. I’ve noticed that these people disappeared from later editions.
But they were amusing, so I cut some out. Without the confinements of their sales descriptions, they began to have little outdoor adventures.
It turns out Campmore Man is usually well prepared, as in the nighttime scene below where the Mummy Bags are strangely advancing on his tent. Note that his folding camp chair pops open and proves to be an effective defense.
Here the Mummy Bags are busy again.
Another time his gear saves him from an adventure gone wrong:
But often he is not adventure ready.
And sometimes he’s just plain out of luck, but no harm done.
Campmore Man is the outdoors friend you really want to have.
He advises anyone who will trek with him, “Be prepared before you leave the house.”
A final message for happy camping:
