Thanks for this, Deda. Before my visits and travels succumbed to Covid, I had a chance, while visiting my daughter, to attend the Kahlo exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum. What a treat! She was so unique in her outlook and driven to create from her vision.

Beth, I've never seen any of Kahlo's paintings. I know it's a different experience when you see real paint as opposed to reproductions, as almost being in the presence of the artist. You and your daughter must have felt this way.

Your word exuberance fits her so well, Helen.

There is something that draws me to her also.

I have a calendar this year of her..

She seemed to be such a strong woman, besides so talented.

What a life!

Cindy, I'm so interested to hear about how you think of Frida, as strong and talented. That's almost a necessary combination.

I have great respect for her strength to keep GOING even after the accident. Making colorful cloths, shoes, etc. to hide her physical issues. Making her undergarments to help her keep herself together. She wasn't going to let that stop her.

Continuing to paint, whether it was to enjoy or heal.

And then there's Diego. How he treated her, and their life together. The pain she must have been in.

She just kept on going.

She definitely knew herself and strengths. And yes, we all can know our true self. Sometimes you have to fight for it. Inside yourself. Or just hear YOURSELF!

Painting, subject matter, seemed to give her strength. Her bright colors. Herself

It's just a feeling I have , and feelings are hard to describe sometimes.

Cindy, your understanding of Frida and how we respond to her life and art, is so thoughtful, clear and TRUE. Thank you.
