That discussion on Newshour was quite interesting, but it is discouraging that people like Abernathy are still glad Trump was president. I do agree with him that the democracy worked to the extent that Pence did the right thing and the election was certified.

Thank you Deda, for this succinct and necessary analysis of our situation. I too felt a brief moment or two of relief after Biden's speech. I do wonder what the thinking is now at the DOJ, in terms of timing, if in fact they are pursuing criminal charges against members of the former administration, incl. the Pres. And, given the volatility of the moment, with the "open carry" folks emboldened and excited about "taking it to the streets" coupled with the number of law enforcement possibly engaged, what would happen if charges were pressed, grand juries put in place, possibly resulting in prison time? I hope everyone caught Fareed Zakaria's special last night on CNN... have we learned from history?
