Margaret, I'm glad you enjoyed my journey back to the roaring sixties! I'm sure mine wasn't unique. These days I'm more and more on the lookout for survivors of my generation.

I, too, enjoyed hearing the story of your political journey, Deda. We share many similarities (ie growing up with Republican parents.) But the abortion issue politicized me in the early 1970's. It became very clear to me that a powerful political party had those all important NUMBERS to WIN for an issue. I've understood why people might vote for the Perots, Naders and Sanders, but I've also understood that the NUMBERS of people working together was what counted if wanting to WIN.....and that party was the Democrats. Hillary, Gloria, Koryne, and Nancy are examples of women who knew the power of numbers. I will be forever indebted to them. Stay strong & VOTE BLUE!

Linda, I really appreciate your underscoring the Numbers in such a clear way, because I don't think that's obvious to many voters, including some very thoughtful Democrats. I hope we all arrive at that vital realization by November.

Having the numbers didn’t help in 2000 or in 2016, unfortunately. I read somewhere that the current GOP is pushing for a Continental Congress - sounded like they want to strip the amendments instead of modernizing the language to replace “men” with “people or human”, which would make lots of them moot.

The danger I see there may be greater than the Project 2025 plans for anyone who doesn’t fit a mold of the 1776 idea of politician or qualified voter.

Down ballot is always where we can make more immediate differences, of course, but is harder to follow if we weren’t raised by politically savvy parents.

I have many thoughts. Thank you for sparking them. :)

Debbie, you've touched on several extremely important parts of all that's going on right now. It seems to me so much safer to stick to a plain down-ballot vote for our one established party that's protecting our democratic rights, and not even consider the siren songs of people trying to confuse, exploit or destroy them (our rights). Thanks for your comments!

May I forward this article to my precinct members? It's so important to share this information and this article expresses it much more coherently that I could ever do! Lynn Romeo

Yes, Lynn, please forward this to your precinct members. I agree with you that this subject is important. Recently I read an op-ed that said this business about Biden's age is a damaging distraction, just like Hillary's emails were. I hope the post starts some positive discussion. Thank you, thank you!
